ok i've come to the conclusion that if i continue reporting my after-exams activities at this slow rate, i will never be able to "catch up" with the current happenings...

but well, as promised, i'll write (type) about the saturday outing. samaraizudo baajion.

so we finished emily rose that morning. it was unfortunate that even though exams finished i couldnt get a good night's (morning?) sleep. promised my korean friend that we would attack namba that day, so i had no choice but to wake up at noon. note: my usual wake-up time during weekends is..... earliest 3pm? yeah. sidetrack: despite being an attentive student who doesnt fall asleep in class (huh..), i call myself sleeping beast a.k.a nemureru gaidai no yajuu.

our main purpose that day was to shop all we wanted, in commemoration with the end of december exams, as well as to run an errand for my friend's family. went up and down namba looking for supplements and medicines and stuff... and ended up looking like old geeks while carrying those things back to the dorm (coz young people dont usually go around buying kyabejin, do they?).

that night's enta no kamisama was hilarious. well at least we were in the right mood to watch manzai. i know at times jokes seem un-laughable especially when u're not in the mood, and u'll think they're stupid and boring.

but Jinnai's was really exceptionally good. it was a story of a guy trying to learn a school anthem but ended up criticising the lyrics instead. 1st of all it didnt touch on any school values or stuff, instead it was all about dogs kept in the neighbourhood, despite the majestic and grand tunes. half way through the song, the end of a stanza i think, it went "........... anata to atashi sakuranbo! (mou ikkai!)"........... which was obviously quoted from the famous otsuka ai's sakuranbo song. and the ending of another stanza.... there was this "* repeat" sign. well, usually when this appears in the lyrics, one is supposed to repeat the inidicated stanza..... and this particular song went like this, ".............. ! asterisk repeat!". finish. what?! that's part of the song what the hell......

with that we went on watching the philosopher's stone. behold, the harry potter movie marathon!! let the games begin! .................. and surely enough we finished it around the same time as emily rose. this actually continued for a few more days, till we finally finished watching the entire "series". i think im turning more and more nocturnal. sleeping at 4 in the morning and waking up in the evening everyday has now become the normal routine.. yabai ne...

sorry for using so many japanese terms in a english blog. i myself clearly understand that a longer stay in japan will mean a more serious deterioration in english. or chinese. heck, every non-japanese language la. but no fear to those who dont understand japanese. i've kindly (eh..) inserted explanations muhaha, as u can see from below. alrighty, enough of elaboration. so much for summarised version of the report.

1) samaraizudo baajion - it's actually "summarised version", read in a very.. japanese way?
2) nemureru gaidai no yajuu - the original phrase is "nemureru mori no bijo" (which is the japanese translation of the title "sleeping beauty", more exactly "the sleeping beauty in the woods"). in this context the modified phrase means "the sleeping beast in osaka university of foreign studies (in short, gaidai)".
3) enta no kamisama - "the god of entertainment". a kansai comedian show.
4) manzai - according to wikipedia... "it is a style of stand-up comedy in japan, which usually involves two performers—a straight man (tsukkomi) and a funny man (boke)—trading jokes at great speed. most of the jokes revolve around mutual misunderstandings, double-talk, puns and other verbal gags."
5) yabai ne - hmm... hard to translate. if u say "yabai" u mean something like "oh fuck..". so "yabai ne" is used when one's in trouble..?
